You can limit the number of songs visible on the playlist with the dynamic mode When it comes to the random part, it's not as random as I would like, I don't like duplicates which seems to happen enough for me to notice... I build a playlist, shuffle that a couple of time & play in order, no duplicates :D I've added tags for duplicate, live, alt version, best, using the genre or comment fields, I have a smart list that filters out: longer than 7minutes, live, duplicate, books, spoken word...
