Swap usage topped out at about 1GB (plus 1GB real memory, on a 2.4GHz athlon64 uniprocessor) - running four ttys, vim, my script, and one ssh connection. Xorg-server itself took 9464 seconds - haven't got to the same point in 64-bit yet.
Even with a raptor (10000rpm) disk, it's fairly unusable when it gets that deep into swap. I guess that I won't be keeping this build, and on balance gcc-4.2.1 is probably a good idea, even though it seems to screw up when cross-compiling bash. ĸen -- das eine Mal als Tragödie, das andere Mal als Farce _______________________________________________ Clfs-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.cross-lfs.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/clfs-dev
