Hey Ken,
I have tried to use a rescue cd fro FC5 to mount the CLFS and do a
chroot into it while it was really connected as /dev/sda but FC5 doesn't
have LILO. It occured to me that there is a mkrescue with CLFS and I
thought I could create a rescue CD with it and have the right setup to
get LILO on the MBR in a condition to actually boot. When I tried to use
mkrescue it exited with the following:

This filesystem will be automatically checked every 28 mounts or
180 days, whichever comes first. Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.
Mounting filesystem
mount: could not find any device /dev/loop#
Copying files...
`/boot/lfskernel-2.6.16.16' -> `/tmp/mkrescue_23145/mkrescue-flp/linux'
done.

Running /sbin/lilo ...
Ignoring entry 'boot'
Fatal: '/dev/' is not a whole disk device
LILO version 22.7.1 failure.

umount: /tmp/mkrescue_23145/mkrescue-flp: not mounted

I did the fake mounts and chroot from the book to run this. Then I ran
the /etc/rc.d/init.d/udev start to create the devices before running
mkrescue. What did I miss?

Arnie
