If this is duplicating something already said, I apologise as I
haven't been subscribed to this particular list for very long, but in
case it hasn't already been said ...

Building Samba on CLFS-SVN-20060505, using BLFS-20060430's directions,
seemingly worked perfectly all the way through install, but when it
came to running either nmbd or smbd, I recieved the following:

nmbd: gconv_db.c:232: __gconv_release_step: Assertion `step->__end_fct
== ((void *)0)' failed.

Package Versions:
Glibc = 2.4
GCC = 4.1.0
Kernel = 2.6.16.14
Samba 3.0.22

I tracked down the related tickets in Samba's BZ, primarily:
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3678

Which includes a patch to Glibc to fix the problem.
https://bugzilla.samba.org/attachment.cgi?id=1909

So far, this is the only unexpected problem I've encountered building
Pure64 on my newest box, and it runs beautifully.
