I believe the Wikibooks people implemented this change and it has nothing to do with the people who created the Clojure_Programming book on the wiki. According to this page: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Help_talk:Revision_review#Estimated_turn_around_time it seems you automatically become a moderator/editor after a certain number of edits. I've just found the criteria for auto-promotion to editor status. Apparently these rules are being reviewed, though.
