The headers already contain these (amongst others) that can reliably
(even more so than the subject) be used to group emails into folders:

Mailing-list: list clojure@googlegroups.com; contact
clojure+own...@googlegroups.com
List-ID: <clojure.googlegroups.com>
Sender: clojure@googlegroups.com

e.g. in gmail I use the following filter:

Matches: list:(<clojure.googlegroups.com>)
Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "clojure"
