There is one insanely off-the-wall idea I've been thinking about recently, however: 1) Implement a full JVM in PyPy using GNU Classpath. Write a Java bytecode interpreter in PyPy. This way you get the power of PyPy (tracing JIT) with the power of Java (classpath) 2) Run stock JVM Clojure on this interpreter 3) .... 4) Profit!
