Searching for "unknown constant tag" in the Clojure Google group finds a few conversation threads mentioning it from several years ago. I don't recall any tickets for it. From reading some of the discussion threads, it sounds like there may never have been a cause identified. Also, perhaps occurrences of the problem could be eliminated by cleaning any existing .class files and recompiling from scratch.
