I'm having a hard time producing a standalone repro case. It fails in the context of every single one of our apps, but doesn't fail in a project with just Clojure 1.7.0 Alpha 5 and the latest core.cache and core.memoize so it would seem to be an interaction with something else we're using. Will continue to work on narrowing this down this week. Updated releases of core.cache and core.memoize would be nice - they've both had a few updates since the last published releases.
