Because "the namespace" is ambiguous in the sentence. It could mean either "the namespace that qualifies the symbol" or "the namespace that is the first argument to `ns-resolve`".

Having been confused by this in the past, I've started trying to be explicit when mentioning variables, always using the explicit variable name, and surrounding the name with `markdown quotes`.
