I could be a bit off here, but I'd say the speed differences between Clojure and Java are actually due to immutability AND weak-typing, while in C# vs F# the difference should be less pronounced and governed primarily by the use of immutability (i.e., using mutable data-structures yield results in the same order of magnitude)?
