YourKit has the ability to take memory snapshots then analyze those snapshots to find retention paths. So it'll help you see things like "500MB of data is held by this single reference".
Getting up-to-speed on YourKit isn't bad if you're familiar with profilers. If not...maybe try learning it anyways, it's a good skill to have.
