In my epub viewer, that is Étude 1-5. The list starting with "You will want a 
variable that holds the latitude converted to radians" is intended to be a 
bulleted list. If you're referring to the line starting "1 Technically, let is 
followed by a vector of binding forms", that's a footnote.
