Please give testing clonezilla live (1.2.1-35) a try. There are some improvement about this, especially for Thinkpad's hidden data between MBR and 1st partition. Remember to check "-j2" option (default is on already) when do a disk to disk clone. If you give it a try, please let us know your results. Thanks in advance.
