That would be poor design. 64 bit has NO chance of running on 32-bit.
However, 32-bit can run on 64. So, it may be the case that some modules
on the 64-bit disc are, in fact, 32-bit. Although, that is more a Debian
question than a Clonezilla question. (Since running 32-bit modules
requires the ia32 package to be installed).

Well, that is exactly what I though too. I am now a newbie with
computers, as I have worked as a professional developer since 1985 or
so, and used Linux successfully since 1994.

And now I did what you suggested. I downloaded and burned to CD the
clonezilla-live-2.4.2-10-i686-pae.iso

And it failed too, just like my earlier attempts now. This makes
absolutely no sense, but the kernel and the lib/modules still are not
matched! Maybe I am just going mad and out of my senses these days?

And yes, the path in NAS does exists (and worked fine with clonezilla too!
