If we are talking about moving exclusively to systemd-networkd I don't
think it makes sense as a systemwide change. There are a lot of benefits
that NetworkManager gives for other use cases that make sense. systemd-
networkd makes sense for cloud I think. The one use case that we had for
systemd-networkd not behaving was cases where people plop down their own
network files in the image (in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts). Ideally
we'd like to have systemd-networkd handle this and there was discussion of
doing this (see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1194623).
