Alex Heneveld commented on CLOUDSTACK-576:
------------------------------------------
Update: there has been a lot of discussion on the mailing list, in the thread
entitled "[DISCUSS] PaaS Enablement: Composite Application Blueprints (#576)".
It was agreed that the ability to customise a VM guest (with files and
commands) should be tracked under a separate issue. CLOUDSTACK-1026 has been
set up for this purpose.
A feature proposal summarising the conclusions of discussions on the list re
this issue (and one for #1026) are in the works and will be linked here.

> Given the level of interest in CloudStack as a platform for private, hybrid
> and public cloud one of the gaps is support for composite/multi-tier
> application blueprints comparable to VMware vApp and CloudFormation templates
> without necessarily slavishly following either of them. This is almost
> certainly a new component. One that will leverage/enhance the API/AWSAPI
> components amongst others.
