Kevin,

I don't know about the rest of your issues, but I have seen this error on my
own system. I saw it in Mandrake 9.0 betas, I now have final installed and
I can't remember if it still shows up or not. Anyway, I have an Adaptec
2930 with an HP SCSI CDRW hooked up to it, and it has all worked just fine,
both with the betas and the final, in spite of this message. So I will
concur with what you found on Google and say "It seems safe to ignore".
