and fortunately you don't even need to spend a day setting up each desktop. do
a basic install that you've customized and saved using a kickstart mechanism
and then propogate your settings via NFS for systems that remain in the
office and simply copy them over (a simple post-install script would do) for
mobile systems (e.g. laptops). heck, you can even do direct disk-to-disk
copies from a master HD image.
office environments are wonderful for setting up desktop systems because you
usually just do it once and then replicate, replicate, replicate.
