I have to say, this is an ironic thread name.

Here's what would be nice.

RH8 install begins, then it prompts me with the last screen where I install
the packages. It has chosen a ton of defaults, such as Samba 2.2.5 HOWEVER,
it has also checked, and it sees that there is an updated package, 2.2.6
available, so I can select that instead. Some packages might have several
options. Continuing with Samba, we might also offer Samba 2.2, and Samba
2.2 (Save version as older RH installs.) etc. The default is X, but newer
and older are still available at install time. This would allow then to
have a single CD install, since everything would be a DL. It addresses my
desire for current versions, Aaron's desire for Binaries, and 90% of users
would just go with the defaults, so it wouldn't be much more difficult for
RH support either.) An added advantage is that major security requirements
could be forced. Meaning the older SSL stuff would no longer be able to
install.

Kev.
