it's been a while since i had to do a fsck on a software RAID system, but here's what i recall... you do the fsck on the actual md device... but make sure the RAID is operating BEFORE you do a fsck on it or any partitions associated with it since if you fsck a single disk that is usually part of an array you can cause problems with the synchronization of the array if/when fsck modifies anything on that single drive in the RAID... if you can't get the RAID up or are concerned about data integrity before doing so, you may want to try one of the methods listed in the software raid HOWTO using the RAID tools.. hrm.. lemme go find that url... *googles* ah, here it is. or a mirror, anyways =) http://linas.org/linux/Software-RAID/Software-RAID-4.html - -- Aaron J.
