Hi

I'm a newbie and non-techie. I've spent much of the past 20 years on Mac, Windows 9x
and other
proprietary systems.

Out of longstanding dissatisfaction with Windows, I want switch to Linux.

I bought Red Hat 8 For Dummies (cringe!) with two CDs, but can't figure out how to
make my
computer boot from the CD so I can begin the installation.

I may need to change a BIOS setting (to make the CD-ROM the first device in the boot
sequence),
but I can't find a setup menu in XP. (I'm using a new Dell Dimension 2350.)

Any suggestions?

Pat
