Hi all:

I hope everyone has been enjoying the christmas season.

It's nice to see that our friendly little open source developers have still
been hard at work recently.

Postgresql has released version 7.3.1 earlier this month. Mainly bugfixes,
and an increase to the libpq version number missed in the previous release I
think. Available here:

ftp://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/source/v7.3.1

And two days ago the PHP developers have released version 4.3 of PHP. All
sorts of information is available at http://www.php.net

Lots of upgrades, fixes, improvements and additions since 4.2.3. The CLI is
now on by default. So for those talented sys admins who happen to know PHP
as well can now (not like you couldn't before, it was just a little more work
to do so since 4.2) make shell scripts in PHP.

I'm already using it on my local machine. Pretty nifty. I realized that
PDFLib is not available at the moment with a shared library for PHP version
4.3 (Give them time), so that module will not work.

:-(

So I shall wait for the time being until it is available for my production
boxes.

Just thought some gurus might not know yet.

Andy
