It is equivalent to Access in that it follows the same standard database formats. I have worked with Access for sometime and I have known a few people that have or are in the process of migrating it to a SQL-based database. (Oracle, MySQL, etc.). Obviously M$ puts its own spin on everything, so it is not as clean as it likely could be depending on your database. You should have no problems though migrating should you choose to.
Let me know if you have any questions and I might be able to give you a hand. Still have some access training manuals around here somewhere that may help you. Hi Guys, With the desire to get the $M monkey off my back, I have acquired StarOffice 6.0. There's a program called adabas in the package. By the info I found on the internet about it, it appears to have something to do with databases. Is this a db engine? Can this package - (personal version) be used like $M access? I anyone has used it, can you give me some info or point me in the direction I should go to make use of this application? Thanks in advance. Rafael.
