Thanks Jesse, After looking thru this stuff i found a file named sversionrc in my home directory and once I deleted this and the OpenOfice.org files and uninstalled, reinstalled ( not sure that was neccesary ) it reran setup from the begining. It isnt clear though that for Linux/Unix you need to run Workstation setup NOT local.
