-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hey All,
I just did something trivial but I thought it was cool. I'm one of those weird people that likes my panel/taskbar docked on the left side of my screen rather than top or bottom. I was rather annoyed by the fact that when I did this the background did a repeating pattern that I wasn't overly impressed with. You see the gradient in this case is set for a horizontal orientation. Since mine is oriented vertically, it looks funny. The solution, fire up the GIMP, open my chosen background (in this case SuSE.png) rotate it 90 and as I am logged in as a user not root, I have to save it in my home directory. Open up a console, su, chown the file for root, mv it to the appropriate directory and change the background image for Kicker. I'm sure there is a simpler way of doing it (like starting up GIMP from a console where I am root?). At any rate my gradient background is now repeating properly for a vertically oriented kicker bar. Neat! Anyone needing clarification let me know. I can walk through it with more detail... paths and such. - -- Jarrod Major GPG Fingerprint: FA4A 1EA3 A0EE A842 07BB 804C 0090 14F6 BE6E DE3D Registered Linux User: #224211 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iQCVAwUBPk2B5wCQFPa+bt49AQJVUQQAmL7x3wgpJgWUfqTZ7VdzJmZZTKe5CMXM rSO41i7u5i+G+7rCKPX5+vDKw2iumYugBQpqkCuqpb0JTprLLAS8BhgBpMLm7/3e Bf0vstjMpUTFql1FEv5/Rci30IHeZXtfoyQKUI+LyhHd552n27lYsIYSqXCg9Rso f098ESuYE+0= =DfWh -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
