Hello all,

Well, I'm taking the plunge and (trying) installing linux on my iPAQ 3600
series PDA, but the directions on handhelds.org
(http://www.handhelds.org/feeds/bootldr/install.html) mention that I need to
use a serial cable/cradle to actually load the distro.

I've almost completed the section regarding loading the bootloader and it's
now displaying the snazzy tux logo after a reboot, but now I need to somehow
get it to a prompt so I can enter some commands in the term emu.

Now, I'm thinking that I should be able to treat the USB port (ttyUSB0?) as
a serial port for purposes of terming into it in linux (since my iPAQ
doesn't have a serial cable/cradle).

Does this seem whacked or should/could it work? I haven't actually tried it
yet, but I did notice a kernel module for serial emulation in USB or
something like that...

As always...TIA for the assistance.

Regards,

Chris
