or else you can put the CD in when the machine has power and then power cycle. 
i suppose jokes should be more technically accurate in order to convey their 
intended meaning. sorry. will be less light hearted in the future.

 i mean, i could've really stumped someone if they had read my email and then 
tried to put the CD in when the computer was off.
