Well, I still wasn't having much success with trying to run winex (despite the 
abundance of help and googling), so I decided to subscribe to Transgaming for 
a 3 month trial ($5 U.S./mnth) to support their efforts as well as grab 
binaries and just get it happening ;-)

I'm pleased to report that winex is now installed and I'm groovin' to some 
Jedi Knight 2 goodness (my first test install).  I've just installed 
Half-Life as well, so after downloading and installing umpteen patches as 
well as my fave mod(s) I should be able to report on it's functionality as 
well.

Thanks to all for the tips/tricks....now back to updating ;-)
