Keep up the good work, Jarrod, and all on the Executive. I appreciate your
efforts and I, for one, believe that they will eventually come to fruition.

These kind of iterative modifications are usually great learning experiences
in hindsight, and hopefully historically beneficial for all (when
documented) ;-) -- they just suck during the process. :-) Hang in there.
:-D

FWIT (for what it's worth),
Curtis.

Thanks Shawn for the words of encouragement. I am an optimist and when they
came back I was quite despondent. Part of the problem was the past Executive

tried to push this through before the end of their term. I was the one who
was doing all the pushing by the way. I saw it as a final push to fulfil our

mandate, have it as a kind of legacy of that Executive. While it would have
been grand if it had gone through, I have resigned myself to the fact that
it
did not.

However, I along with the other Executive believe now that this happened for
a
good reason. We are taking this opportunity to reformat the document to
include section numbers. This will make it a snap to make any future
amendments. This Executive and hopefully all future Executives will thank us

for this. Most of the other stuff is just reorganizational in nature.

I am kicking myself now for not looking at the registration papers sooner.
The
Alberta Government provided a very complete set of Example Bylaws that you
would just have to fill a few things out and be done. We based ours on
CLUE's
Bylaws and Mission statement. The big difference is that CLUE is a
Corporation while we are going to be a Society. A lot of legal stuff they
had
in their Bylaws doesn't apply to us. We tried to make it apply and that was
our mistake.

We trimmed a lot of this legalese in favour of the more simplified language
in
the example Bylaws. I believe that the new proposed Bylaws are much more
readable. I will get something up for you all to see tonight.
