Try running Xawtv, it should let you select Canada-Cable and then run
through the frequencies and try to find all the stations. Some apps need
this to happen before the operate properly. I would also suggest that
you give Zapping a try and see if it works (it should be installed by
default). You may also want to go through the TV card control panel and
make sure that it selected the correct card, etc. Another great program
is tvtime. You'll have to install it from source but it usually works
right out of the box for me.

I think it is on CD 1, but you can install it and all its deps through
urpmi or gurpmi (urpmi sndconfig).
