Does anyone have any experience with HP core switches. We have a Cisco right now, but it's expensive to maintain, and even more expensive to upgrade. I'm thinking it might make sense to switch it out with a Procurve.
I'd be interested in any firsthand experiences, positive or negative.
Haven't tried HP switches, but I thought I should mention a not so popular brand: Extreme Networks <http://www.extremenetworks.com/>. We were an all-Cisco shop (back when I used to work for an ISP) yet we found their switches to be fast, reliable, featureful and a joy to maintain remotely. They were also much, MUCH more cheaper than Cisco's (per port).
