I am very fortunate to have a relatively expert linux user as a brother who has contributed "Running Linux" and "Learning Debian GNU Linux" to my bookshelf. Before I post a question to any newsgroup, I will look at those two books first, then to the man pages, then to help, frequently asked questions, and to one other category which I have forgotten. I am sending you this letter using libranet, which uses debian Linux kernel and applications. If I have time today I am going to start reading "Running Linux". I have learned how to sort my mail into various folders using configure filters by first being shown by my brother and then when I wanted to do something new by experimenting.
