Hi Brian Yes Wine Is Not an Emulator, It is more like a simulation of the vintage environment :o) it still (emulates the file-system) in this case an ntfs ontop the ext3/ReiserFS/whateverFS you may have on your Linux Box. A Db application is as we know IO intensive. I am not saying it is impossible to run, what i would say is, the risks outweigh the benefits ...
