i think the network interface works a bit different, but i'm not sure.
why not tell me about your experience ? you just got a job to manage solaris 
system ? each time you get usefull info, about similarities and difference, 
please tell us on this list. maybe one day there will be an howto on clug's 
newbie website.

personnaly i get a lot of trouble compiling Qt on solaris, but it was in 2000 
and i dont remember the version. should be fixed by now.
