phpMyAdmin is a nice, web based tool for administration Cameron. But no nice color highlighted sql tool, just text in a box. But for basic, navigation, table mods etc, its clean and simple. The cc is also not bad and there is a decent set of additional links at mysql.com for 3rd part tools.

After much consideration and research I think I have decided to use MySQL. Since I am likely using OOo, NetJuke, and a few other cross-compatible software packages, and it seems that they support MySQL databases, so I should likely go that way. I am still looking at PostGre as it seems to be more Oracle like, but I can't see that OOo supports Postgre as a data source. I am just wondering if anyone could confirm that my hypothesis is true. Also, I am looking for some MySQL administration tools, specifically right now for creating tables, forms, etc., but also additional tools that others might suggest. I am currently cutting my teeth on MySQL in a windows environment as I am more familiar with it, but am hoping to migrate my knowledge over. I have downloaded and installed the MySQL Control Center from the website to manage my servers, but it has been awhile since I have been dealing with databases so I am not sure where to look. Brain is melting... it is late! Cameron
