I've been playing around with BitTorrent lately and it looks like, as
someone previously suggested, that it might be an interesting way to
allow CLUG to host some of the things like Cluggix without requiring
huge amounts of bandwidth from one source.

It looks like all we need is a bitTorrent server running somewhere (my
server has one on it), then the initial distributor (Dan) would tell the
torrent server about the ISO and offer it for download from his
computer. Those of us with some spare bandwidth would download the ISO
and have our machines also offer it for download. Once a few of us are
serving it the demand on any one machine is significantly less. People
downloading the ISO would get bits of it from all the machines offering
it as well as anyone else downloading it at the moment.

This sounds like kind of a fun thing to play with. For those who have
never encountered BitTorrent before it can be found here.

Anyone else interested in playing with something like this?
