TOTALLY agree with you here. My former electronics teacher stressed this too. Our notes had a scull and cross bone by the horizontal flyback transformer circuitry. For TV's (or monitors) it made 18000 volts ( 25000 volts for colour) This supply can easily supply more current (miliamps) than needed for stopping ones heart. So, as my instuctor said, the only way to be near that circuit is with one hand behind your back. That way there is less chance it may go through you heart and stop it (that would be very very bad :(, as in electrocute !) So BE carefull and do not let the current get to you (as in your heart). If you do get a shock, you WILL remember it, that is if your heart is still ticking. I am not saying it is 100 % safe, BUT at least rember the one hand behind your back rule. So you have been warned.
