I’ve installed a linux operating system on a IBM PC 300PL. For some reason the Crystal Audio (Cs4232) is disabled.

I’ve downloaded the alsa-driver-0.9.1.tar bz2 driver packages and also the alsa-kernel-0.9.1-fr1-2.4.18_26.8.0i686 rpm packages.

When I try installing the alsa-kernel packages I get a error message that the alsa-driver are undetected.

How do you extract the alsa-drivers so that the installation work’s.

In Red Hat 8.0 how do you go about extracting files from your desktop to your floppy drive?
