My suggestion would be to utilize the groups resources. There is lots of knowledge in CLUG, and it looks like you already have your foot in the door when it comes to Linux. I would come to the meeting on Wed. to see what you can learn, and do some networking. If you need help, post your questions to the list, there is often someone who has the answer. We also have an irc channel (#clug on irc.debian.org) if you want to talk to people directly.
