I heard about damnsmalllinux and the 50mb is even smaller than what I was told. The business card size CD is also brilliant. As a presenter, its rewarding to learn more about the topic one presented and to inspire others as well. Thank you Jason. Another example of this occurred when I learned from Jeff (Clement) that there is a smaller desktop than blackbox which I've already been looking into. Thanks for that Jeff. It's called ratpoison because it kills the mouse. You use the keyboard exclusively to do everything on the desktop. I think its a great idea because IMHO its not only faster to do things with the keyboard, but ergonomically safer since it puts less strain on your wrists than the mouse. Ratpoison can be downloaded from freshmeat.net or sourceforge.net I think I'm now going to see if I can combine ratpoison with damnsmalllinux. I can now image being able to install linux on even more 486 computers and facing fewer potential hardware and X11 (video) issues because a mouse is out of the way (a used serial mouse is often at the end of its life) and because of new found hard drive space. Who knows... yet. Cheers and happy installing, Peter Williams _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca
