Examples of SIGs (and/or subSIGs or sub Topics) might include:
* Linux/OpenSource on the desktop * for business / productivity * for home / gaming / multimedia enthusiasts
* Linux /OpenSource on the server * SMB (small and medium business) * enterprise * enthusiast applications (e.g. gaming, media streaming, etc.)
* Linux/OpenSource evangelism/activism * nubee resources * installfests * getting Linux/OpenSource into the Calgary business community
* Linux/OpenSource development * coding * testing * documentation
The clug.ca website polling mechanism might be one way to find out interest levels for these and other SIG topics. And reaction on this mailing list may be a first indicator, if CLUG is ready for this, yet.

So I was wondering what sort of things you wanted to see on the site. Personally I have been thinking of content that deals with:
*Tips: KDE, Gnome, Office apps, CLI, GPG/PGP public key encryption, etc. *Workshops *Advocacy *Success stories/deployment *mentoring/tutoring
The Executive has been long pondering what we should do to retain or promote interest in CLUG from members of the 'old guard'. These are folks who have been using Linux/Open Source/Free Software for a long time. We value these individuals and want to know what we can do to keep them actively involved. It has been said that CLUG seems to be catering to the new folks predominantly. While I disagree with this statement, it raises concern with us. Perhaps we are not making it as appealing for those people. Are the topics we have presentations on 'old hat' for them?
We try and have a broad spectrum of topics for folks so that there is something for everyone. It is a constant goal of ours. If we have too much in-depth stuff we lose the interest of the new folks. If we have too much simple, beginner things, then we lose the interest of the folks who "have been there and done that".
Any input you have would be welcomed.
