Hey Group,

We held the AGM last night and notwithstanding the initial bumps getting the
room open, I think we had a successful one.

We had 26 people in attendance and made quorum. All were Tier Two Members in
good standing. There were no Tier One members or other witnesses.

We retired the previous Executive Board members. Took nominations for the new
Executive, there were none. The previous core Executive (President,
VIce-President, Treasurer, Secretary) let their names stand and were accepted
by the group in attendance.

We elected not to amend the Bylaws in regards to a proposed change in wording
for the election of auditors. The Executive were concerned about this and
interpreted it wrong at the last AGM.

The group ratified the selection of Auditors for the 2003 fiscal year; Shawn
Grover and Peter Williams.

A set of six Tier Two members in attendance were selected and approved for
auditing the books for fiscal year 2004.

An amendment to the bylaws was made to section 3.5.e regarding lengthy
absences of Executive Board members and the subsequent vacating of those
positions.

Nexus computer books donated three books for door prizes (Thank-you again
Nexus, you are too kind).

We had a discussion about CLUG's stance on Linux advocacy with regards to
Schools (and any other organization). No motions were made.

A motion was made and passed that now requires the posting of Executive
Meeting minutes on the CLUG website www.clug.ca (calgary.linux.ca).

I think that about covers the facts.

Personally, I was quite impressed with the way the meeting transpired. There
were good questions, concerns and suggestions all around. The group was there
to make their opinions heard and to be involved. It was democracy at it's
finest in my opinion.

We went longer than we anticipated but we did have the room till 10:00pm so it
was fine. The debate over the auditors was quite heated at times but I think
we made the right decision to let it stand and interpret it the way we did.

I was thankful to everyone who accepted me as continuing President of CLUG and
for David Watkins (among others) whose kind words were very touching. I will
strive to serve you even better in this coming term. I think the rest of the
Executive also feel this way. I work with the best team!

We will be appointing at least two more at-large Executives in the very near
future; Communications Coordinator and Events Coordinator.

Thank-you to everyone who attended the meeting.
