[clug-talk] mbox mailboxes

I'm wondering if anybody can help me understand something fairly 
strange. I've been using KMail as my mail application for more than two 
years. This will be changing to Apple's Mail application. Since I am 
transitioning between applications, naturally I'll need to import all 
the data from KMail. Fortunately for me there is a built-in import 
wizard, so I ran it and imported KMail's mailboxes. What I ended up 
with is a bunch of folders, some starting with . (ones that have 
subfolders), and some with just a plain title. To my surprise my 
"inbox" folder has 2527 messages (some dating back to July 7th)! How I 
could have so many messages?
