I am stuck with ncp (Novell)
Mounting directories go just fine.
f.e. /home/test1is one of the mounted volumes.

Now because this is /home/test1 GDM wants to put a cookie file in it.
.Xauthority
Also that goes but ...
When this coockie is actually used things go wrong, when the directory is mounted using NCP
the mode is defaulted to 755 and for this file it needs to be 600...
Looks like there is some code so you can change these permisions but that is not working quite right yet.


I am in contact with the maintainer of ncpmount and Novell but things go slow, especially on the Novell side.

Anybody has a 'trick' to bypass this check on .Xauthority?
