Kind of off-topic, but this is one of the main reasons I switched to and stay with Linux. When I come up with a slick mental solution for some otherwise inefficient task I'm facing (for instance, recursing a few dozen directories to delete a specific file type), the first thing I usually think is "Well, even if I don't know how to do it, I'm sure it's possible under Linux (using sed, awk, grep, etc.)." It's the "it's possible" mentality that keeps me excited and learning. It's a bear to learn sed and awk when you're come from a Windows background but, oh, the crazy cool stuff you can do once you learn it. :-) I never have to say, "Oh crap, this is going to take forever going through Windows Explorer!" or "Which filesystem objects do I need to instantiate in VBScript again?". ;-) Curtis _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca
