Well I started off searching for info on SATA RAID support under Linux and have not
had much luck for a clean sollution, meaning it will work out of the box and during
installation. It sounds like Mandrake 10 may have the best support out of the box, but
I am planning to run Fedora Core 1 or possibly RH 9. So with regards to the various
chips sets available, SI, Promise Intel etc, does anyone know of a motherboard (Xeon,
P4, AMD) which would support SATA RAID on install of any of the distros mentioned
above? I already run some 3ware boards and know that I could go that route but prefer
to have a motherboard based controller on this machine.

Maybe I should just reconsider and stick with SCSI, a proven and well supported
technology.
