I've installed Fedora Core 1 on a number of Intel Server Board S875WP1-E boards with not much effort. For some reason, with the newest motherboard BIOS, which subsequently upgrades the Adaptec Embedded SATA RAID BIOS, Fedora couldn't load the ata_piix driver while attemting to install. I downgraded the BIOS and it works just fine now.

It sounds like Mandrake 10 may have the best support out of the box, but I am planning to run Fedora Core 1 or possibly RH 9. So with regards to the various chips sets available, SI, Promise Intel etc, does anyone know of a motherboard (Xeon, P4, AMD) which would support SATA RAID on install of any of the distros mentioned above? I already run some 3ware boards and know that I could go that route but prefer to have a motherboard based controller on this machine.
