I was speaking with Cameron at the installfest about LDAP, and where one might use it. I came across this whitepaper today that seemed pertinent - at least from an installation standpoint. Maybe someone on the list might be able to get something from it?
http://www.openldap.org/pub/ksoper/OpenLDAP_TLS_howto.html It looks like it gives fairly good instructions on how to create an SSL certificate, install and configure an LDAP server, and then configure the LDAP clients.
