It just limits traffic to X active IP's depending on what you're paying for.
Shaw's abuse department will port scan customers if there has been complaints or if they are monitoring your bandwidth for abuse issues. Any scans initiated by shaw will come from the following host authorized-scan.corp.shaw.ca (204.209.209.89).
Any other scans out of shaw IP space are most likely hacked windoze boxes searching for new hosts to infect. They should be reported to the shaw abuse department at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
